サマースノー
Summer Snow (썸머스노우) is a Korean-created musical adaptation of TBS’s 2000 drama Summer Snow, developed for overseas Hallyu markets and led by K-pop–driven casting. Its principal confirmed exports are Japan (multi-city runs beginning in 2013) and Taiwan (Taipei, 2014).
ORIGIN
2013; developed by EUNHASU Entertainment (planning/production credited in Japan); Korean-created stage adaptation of the 2000 TBS television drama “Summer Snow”; launched as a Hallyu musical designed for Japanese and Greater China markets using Korean casts with local promotion. Premiere activity in Japan included Osaka/Hyogo and Tokyo engagements.
STORY
Centered on Natsuo (a young man supporting his family after their parents’ deaths) and Yuki (a woman living with an enlarged heart), the musical follows their tender romance and the siblings’ bond as they navigate illness, responsibility, and first love. Tone is contemporary melodrama with family warmth; music and staging emphasize youthful pop sensibility and ensemble-driven scenes. Themes include caregiving, resilience, and finding hope in everyday life. The title echoes the protagonists’ names (Natsuo/Yuki) and the drama’s motif of “summer snow.”

KOREAN RUNS
No fully confirmed Korean staging has been documented to date. In 2017, production company Voice Factory announced plans for a 2018 Korean run and related audition process, but there is no verified record that the production was completed or publicly performed in Korea.

Japan – Hyogo & Tokyo (2013–2014)
Korean-language licensed tour
Opened at Amagasaki Archaic Hall (Hyogo) and Akasaka ACT Theater (Tokyo) in 2013, with return runs in Amagasaki later the same year
Reported to have reached 80+ cumulative performances across the Osaka/Hyogo–Tokyo circuit by 2014, driven by rotating K-pop casting (U-KISS, Supernova, SS501, etc.). Local media highlighted strong fan turnout and an “all-star” alternating cast model tailored to the Japanese Hallyu market.
Taiwan – Taipei (2014)
Korean-language touring engagement with Chinese surtitles
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Jan 2014 (multiple performances over four days)
Presented in Korean with Chinese surtitles and marketed through K-pop–focused promotion, positioning the title for Mandarin-speaking audiences through a large-venue format.
