ORIGIN

The musical was first introduced as a showcase in 2012 in Daegu, created by MAC Theatre. A full staging followed in 2013 and was awarded the Grand Prize at the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF), marking its early recognition within the Korean regional musical scene. The work was developed by Daegu-based writers and producers and structured as an omnibus musical centered on the symbolic magnolia flower.

STORY

The musical consists of three independent but thematically linked episodes connected by the image of the magnolia, regarded as a symbol of enduring love and memory. The stories span different periods and social settings, including wartime separation, migrant worker life, and a neighborhood facing redevelopment. Each episode explores a different form of love and loss while maintaining a small-scale, character-driven narrative style. The musical incorporates Korean regional dialect and folk-influenced melodic elements rather than large-scale production spectacle.
