🧭 Overview
My Bucket List is a Korean original musical about two young men who rediscover the meaning of life through friendship and loss. The story follows Kang-goo, a troubled ex-juvenile inmate who tries to end his life, and Hae-gi, a terminally ill high school friend who tricks Kang-goo into meeting him by claiming he too is dying.
Despite their differences, the two form a bond as they embark on completing Hae-gi’s bucket list — from simple joys to grand dreams — learning along the way that life, even in hardship, can still hold meaning and beauty. The musical balances humor and heartbreak, resonating with young audiences for its sincerity and emotional depth.
🌍 International Development
In 2022, My Bucket List was selected for the K-Musical Roadshow in London, presented alongside Marie Curie and Inside William. The London showcase featured British actors Barney Wilkinson and Dean Makowski-Clayton, directed by Oscar Toeman with musical direction by Beth Jerem.
Produced by Aria Entertainment (general management by Katy Lipson), the English version received attention for its relatable story and universal themes of youth, mortality, and reconciliation.
