1. Overview
The Little Musician is a 4D family musical based on The Little Minstrel, a children’s picture book by Uzbek author Farrukhrajim Hakimovich, inspired by Central Asian folktales. The story follows Mobichine, a wandering musician on a journey to find a ray of sunlight warm enough to melt the frozen winter world. Everyday objects transform into stage elements: bubble wrap becomes a snowstorm, yellow woodboard paper becomes sunlight, and simple analog props create a tactile world beyond screens. The piece combines hand-made visuals, immersive sound, and live performance to offer young audiences a sensory theatre experience.
2. Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2018)
The production was invited to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the children’s programme and was selected as one of the three “Best Shows for Children” by The Scotsman. FringeReview describes it as “a richly imaginative piece of object theatre… full of texture, warmth, and visual invention.”
The show received a four-star “MUST SEE” review from The Scotsman, which praised its inventive analogue staging, live sound, and emotional clarity. The poster featuring the review was widely displayed throughout Edinburgh during the festival, helping to draw international audience attention to the work.
