ORIGIN

2017 – Created by Brush Theatre (director Kim Mi-young, music Kim Sung-hwan).
Premiered at Namsan Traditional Theater, Seoul, as an original non-verbal family musical designed for small to mid-scale touring. Developed with the goal of presenting Korean children’s theatre in international festivals, prioritizing portability, live sound design, and cross-cultural accessibility.

STORY

The musical follows a young musician who journeys to restore the sun after it disappears, leaving the world in darkness and cold. Armed only with a flute, she encounters animals, landscapes, and obstacles that test her bravery and imagination. The show uses puppetry, live instrumental performance, and visual theatre rather than dialogue, making it accessible across languages. The tone is gentle and hopeful, emphasizing courage, cooperation, and the emotional power of music.
