「天使について」〜堕落天使編〜
Concerning Angels: The Fallen Angel (천사에 관하여: 타락천사 편) is a Korean original two-hander musical that imagines a battle of faith, temptation, and artistic destiny between an angel and a fallen angel who intervene in Leonardo da Vinci’s creative crisis. The show later expanded beyond Korea through licensed full productions in Japan and China in 2022.
ORIGIN
2016, written and composed by Lee Hee-jun and Lee Aram, produced by MJStarfish, premiered at JTN Art Hall 4 in Daehangno, Seoul. The musical combines historical fiction with theological fantasy, using 23 genre-blending numbers (rock, opera, aria, ballad) to dramatize the making of a masterpiece and the spiritual forces that shape an artist’s life.
STORY
Luka, an angel assigned to guide chosen artists away from despair, descends to Earth after hearing Leonardo da Vinci’s desperate prayer for inspiration. However, the seductive fallen angel Valentino appears first, offering Leonardo brilliance through rebellion rather than faith. Mistaken identity, artistic doubt, and rivalry unfold through Leonardo’s apprentice Giacomo, who alone can see Luka. The musical reveals that the true conflict is not between Heaven and Hell, but between creation born of love and creation born of wounded pride.
