ORIGIN

2019, book and lyrics based on the webtoon "A Night She Came From the Universe (어느 밤 그녀가 우주에서)" from the series Normal Like This (이토록 보통의), produced by Park Company, premiered at Yes24 Stage 3, Seoul. Developed as a small-cast contemporary musical focused on everyday emotions, personal dreams, and the line between reality and imagination.

STORY

Eun-gi loves J, whose lifelong dream is to become an astronaut. When J is suddenly assigned to a year-long space mission, their relationship begins to unravel, leading to an accident, separation, and the painful question of what it means to stay together. The musical gradually reveals a twist involving cloning, memory, and second chances, using quiet realism and lyrical pop-ballad music to explore loss, love, and the hope of starting again.

GLOBAL STAGINGS & ADAPTATIONS

Licensed adaptation – Mandarin-language full production titled 愛,死機
Staged in January 2023 at A33 Theater and produced by Happy Twist. The script and character names were localized for Chinese audiences while the core plot structure was retained, shifting the astronaut dream motif to a contemporary Chinese setting. Featured local cast including Cui En’er and Xu Qin, and was marketed as a youthful romance with a sci-fi twist.
