ORIGIN

Let Me Fly was created by ProsLab and developed through the Wooran Foundation’s new musical incubation program. Written by Minhyung Cho (book & lyrics) and composed by Chanhong Min, the musical premiered in Seoul in 2022. Its narrative style blends romance, humor, and time-slip fantasy with a nostalgic 1960s setting, positioning the work as a fresh example of contemporary Korean storytelling in musical form.

STORY

The musical begins in 1969, the night of the Apollo 11 moon launch, when Namwon — the town’s most talented tailor — dreams of becoming a fashion designer and imagines a bright future with Jungbun. Suddenly, he faints under the glow of the moon and awakens in 2020, where an elderly woman named Seonhee appears before him. As Namwon seeks a way back to 1969, the story unfolds as a warm reflection on love, destiny, regret, and the quiet beauty of an “ordinary” life. With gentle comedy and emotional intimacy, the musical asks what it means to live fully in the time we are given.
