ORIGIN

Premiered in 2021, produced by Nangman Barricade. Adapted from the novel “Yujin and Yujin” by Yi Geum-yi; score by Ahn Ye-eun. Developed as an intimate chamber musical that treats adolescent trauma and healing with gentle realism and two-lead structure (“Big Yujin” and “Little Yujin”), it earned nominations at the 6th Korea Musical Awards (Best Book, Best Score).

STORY

Two middle-school girls with the same name—one outgoing, one reserved—reunite years after sharing a painful kindergarten incident. As fragments of memory surface, they confront denial, shame, and social judgment, gradually moving from avoidance to solidarity. Framed with tender songs and minimal staging, the piece explores how acknowledgement, companionship, and self-forgiveness can transform buried wounds into resilience.
