Christine Heesun Hwang is a queer Korean-American actor, writer, and lyricist raised in the American Midwest. Before Broadway, she toured North America as Kim in Miss Saigon and Éponine in Les Misérables, bringing her into principal roles traditionally associated with Asian and European settings. Hwang made her Broadway debut in 2024 as an original swing in Suffs. She also understudied Lucy Burns, Inez Milholland, and Ruza Wenclawska, with Mollie Hay later recorded as an additional understudy assignment. Alongside performing, she develops new plays and musicals and has participated in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Her career combines Korean-American and queer representation with work as both an interpreter and creator of musical theatre.
