Daniel Dae Kim is a Korean-born American actor and producer whose work has expanded Korean-American representation across television, film, and the Broadway stage. Born in Busan and raised in the United States, he became widely known through Lost and Hawaii Five-0. After first portraying the King of Siam at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2009, Kim made his Broadway debut in 2016 as the final replacement King in Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of The King and I. Through his production company 3AD, he also developed the American television adaptation of the Korean series The Good Doctor. Kim later returned to Broadway in the play Yellow Face, earning a Tony Award nomination and extending his influence beyond musical theatre.
