John Yi

John Yi is a Korean-American actor and singer whose work has frequently intersected with Asian-American stories and questions of cultural identity. Before Broadway, he appeared in the first national tour of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella and in New York productions including Soft Power, Snow in Midsummer, and the immersive Off-Broadway premiere of KPOP, in which he originated Bobo. Yi remained involved with the musical through several years of development and made his Broadway debut as Danny in its original 2022 Broadway cast. He has described the project as part of a process of reclaiming his Korean identity. His later stage work includes The Big Gay Jamboree and the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show, alongside television and voice performances.
