Luna, born Park Sun-young in Seoul, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and musical-theatre performer. She became widely known as the main vocalist and lead dancer of the K-pop group f(x), while building a parallel stage career in Korean productions including Legally Blonde, Coyote Ugly, High School Musical, In the Heights, and Rebecca. Luna made her Broadway debut in 2022 as MwE, the central solo artist in KPOP. Her experience of entering the Korean entertainment industry as a young trainee closely informed her interpretation of a character confronting the discipline, commercial pressures, and restricted self-expression of the idol system. The role made her Broadway appearance a direct extension and examination of her established Korean career rather than an unrelated overseas casting.
