Summary

In a cyberpunk near future of anti-aging technology and AI control, a man, a machine, and two clones form a punk band to sing their humanity.

Origin & Development

Written and directed by SangWon Youn (script and Korean lyrics) with music by JeongYeon Lee, the musical was first tried out at KT&G Sangsangmadang Daechi Art Hall on August 23–31, 2025, through the Korea Creative Content Agency's Creative Talent Development Program. It premiered at Jayu Theater in Daehak-ro, Seoul, on March 10–May 31, 2026, produced by SUMNAVI Co., Ltd.

Set in 2055, when an AI has divided the world into Eden, a human paradise without death, and Inferno, a junkyard of discarded clones, it reinterprets the spirit of 1970s punk rock for four actors with live guitar, bass, and drums. In October 2026 it was one of eight new Korean musicals presented at K-Musical Pitching on Broadway in New York, organized by the Korea Arts Management Service. The English version credits Jorden Amir for English lyrics and dramaturgy.

Partial Synopsis

In 2055, humanity has stopped being born. The AI Arche has divided the world into Eden, a human paradise without death, and Inferno, the junkyard of discarded clones. Clone No. 2847, Leo, fails the Eden Qualification Test because he cannot suppress his emotions. He hears of Glen, a man who left Eden for Inferno of his own free will and plays guitar alone in a derelict factory. Through Glen's music, Leo hears his own heart for the first time. With Jack, Clone No. 2848, and Liber, an AI built on the memories of Glen's late sister, they form a punk band to change Inferno. After a year of rehearsal, their concert awakens Inferno, and Arche appears before them, forcing a final choice.

Official English titles in this database are extracted only from primary sources. These include:

  • materials released by the production company, credited creative team, or venue, including their official pages on social media, YouTube, and similar platforms;

  • official English listings on ticketing sites;

  • official industry events such as the K-Musical Market;

  • interviews in which a creative team member clearly gives the English title.

English titles that appear only in translations by others, such as news articles, reviews, or fan materials, are not included as official titles. When no primary-source English title exists, the title is recorded as a literal translation and labeled on the left as either “Unofficial Third Party Usage Confirmed” or “No English Title Found,” depending on whether an English title has appeared in the media or elsewhere.

“Captured” is the date the screenshot was taken. “Accessed” is the date the search for an English title was last carried out. English titles may change when a production revises them for a later staging. Entries are updated to the most recent official title where possible, though updates may lag behind such changes.

Some source pages have been observed to change or disappear over time, so screenshots are kept here at a reduced but legible resolution. They serve only to document the title as it appeared on the date shown. Clicking an image opens its original source page. All rights to the captured material remain with their respective owners.
