Alex Lee Tano, also known in Korea as musical actress Lee So-jung, is a South Korean performer whose career has spanned American and Korean stages. After appearing in the second national tour of Miss Saigon, she succeeded to the role of Kim and made her Broadway debut as an alternate replacement in 1998. Contemporary Broadway records list her as Kim at certain performances, while her own published account places the start of her Broadway engagement on December 16, 1998; the exact end date remains unconfirmed. She later continued performing in the United States and returned to Korea, where her credits included stage musicals, concert work, and the Korean-dubbed singing voice of Disney’s Mulan. Korean press has identified her as one of the early native Korean performers to take a leading role in a Broadway musical.
