Ashley Park is a Korean-American actress, singer, and dancer raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She made her Broadway debut in 2014 as a replacement ensemble member in Mamma Mia!, while also covering Ali. Her first principal Broadway role followed in the 2015 revival of The King and I, in which she originated Tuptim and appeared on the Grammy-nominated cast recording. Park subsequently performed in Sunday in the Park with George and originated Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls, receiving a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She also appeared in the original Off-Broadway production of KPOP before expanding into screen work through Emily in Paris, Beef, Only Murders in the Building, and Joy Ride. Park has spoken publicly about how her understanding of her Korean-American identity developed alongside her career.
