Summary

Victor Frankenstein revives his friend Henri as a powerful creature, but ambition, betrayal, and abandonment turn their bond into a devastating cycle of revenge.

Origin & Development

The musical premiered in 2014 at Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater in Seoul, created by writer-director Wang Yong-beom with music by Lee Sung-joon. It was originally produced by the Jung District Cultural Foundation as the 10th-anniversary project for Chungmu Art Center, with a large cast, dual-role principal casting, and cinematic staging.

Later seasons were produced by New Contents Company and eventually EMK Musical Company, with major revivals in 2015–2016, 2018, 2021–2022, and a 10th-anniversary production in 2024. Its international development began with a licensing agreement with Toho in Japan.

Partial Synopsis

Victor Frankenstein and his friend Henri Dupre pursue the creation of a perfect lifeform capable of defeating death. Their experiment unleashes a chain of betrayal, loss, and revenge that destroys both creator and creation.
