Michael K. Lee is a Korean-American musical-theatre actor whose career has moved repeatedly between Broadway, American regional theatre, and the Korean musical industry. While studying at Stanford University, he joined the second national tour of Miss Saigon and subsequently made his Broadway debut as Thuy in 1996. He returned to the Broadway production for its final weeks in 2000–2001. Lee later appeared in Pacific Overtures and Rent in the United States and built an extensive career in Korea through productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Notre-Dame de Paris, and Miss Saigon. His bilingual, transnational career makes him a central figure connecting Korean and American musical theatre.
