Soon-Tek Oh was a Korean-born American actor, director, and educator whose career connected Korean migration, Asian-American theatre, Hollywood, and Broadway. Born in Mokpo, he studied at Yonhi University before continuing his training in the United States, including the Neighborhood Playhouse and UCLA. He was an early member of East West Players and later founded the Korean American theatre company Society of Heritage Performers. Oh made his Broadway musical debut in the original 1976 production of Pacific Overtures, performing several roles and contributing to its martial-arts sequence. His extensive screen career included The Man with the Golden Gun, MacGyver, and the voice of Fa Zhou in Disney’s Mulan, while his teaching appointments linked his American career back to Korean theatre education.
